Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL) is a big tent organization with the mission of connecting, communicating, and educating about public service topics. Public service professionals across the country volunteer their time to plan events, write for ELGL.org, and foster and promote connections. ELGL believes that telling stories about people, ideas, trends and approaches in local government is the best way to make a positive difference.
  Government Finance Officers Association
The GFOA'’s mission is to enhance and promote the professional management of governmental financial resources by identifying, developing, and advancing fiscal strategies, policies, and practices for the public benefit. The organization provides best practice guidance, consulting, networking opportunities, publications including books, e-books, and periodicals, recognition programs, research, and training opportunities for those in the profession.
  ICMA Center for Management Strategies
The Center for Performance Analytics (ICMA Analytics) is dedicated to demonstrating the performance dividend of professional local government management by providing next generation analytical tools, training, and technical assistance to assist communities in achieving higher levels of performance. 
 

SkinnyOhio
Ohio’s fiscal reality demands - and its citizens deserve - clean, accountable and efficient government. SkinnyOhio.org is a new tool in the effort to meet this standard. Through this site, the State shares best practices in critical areas of government agencies that performance audits have identified as opportunities for potential savings.
