A smarter Cuyahoga County takes shape under amateur mapmakers

Apparently, a lot of you agree that Cuyahoga County needs a new map.

Last month in this space, I wrote that it was time to end the Balkanization of a shrinking county that now has 38 cities, 19 villages and two townships. I offered a map consolidating those 59 municipalities into 14 -- Cleveland and 13 suburbs, six of them with populations of at least 75,000. In hopes of igniting a long-delayed and much-needed conversation, I also invited you to submit your own maps.
